Don Pepe in Midlotdian

We LOVE this place.... The best service, killer homemade salsa, Great margaritas, the biggest burritos I've ever had, and speedy stating and checkout. Seriously, my absolute favorite place to go when we are craving Mexican food. Friendly and very accommodating staff, from the host, the servers, the folks that bring chips & salsa upon first seating, seriously I can't say enough good things about Mr. Pepe!!

Very disappointed. We were trying to support a local business for Cinco De Mayo. We ordered online and went to pick it up, expecting a wait. But at the building, there was a massive line of unmasked customers waiting to pick up food, not 6ft apart. Staff came out in masks to shout muffled numbers, but never in any order. First in orders in the 90's, then 600's, then 900's, bouncing around with no system to it. It was impossible to know if your number had already been called. After about 20-30 minutes waiting we had to leave briefly, and didn't see a point of returning because there was no way to tell when we'd get our food. Could not cancel our online order either, so someone is just getting a free meal on us tonight I guess . I assume they must be new to the online system or something, but there has got to be a better way to organize this in the future

Very, too busy for a Friday night. Entry way crowded. Ordered fish and steak tacos to go. Need more flavor and had to go back for cheese and lettuce as only meat was on taco. Salsa was tasty but could use a little less salt. Chips tasted burnt or like old or burnt oil was used to cook the chips. prices okay.

Ordered take out tonight was the first time eating here. Was really impressed! The food was amazing. Both me and my girlfriend both thought the food was awesome! We will be ordering from here again soon. Me and my gf both said the food tonight was better than our favorite Mexican Restaurant in this area and if it’s as good next time this will be our new go to spot. They way they had the curb side to go organized was impressive as well. They were also very nice and were genuine when they thanked us for our business.

I stop here to pick up dinner regularly. The food is always fantastic. The wait time for a to-go order is Always impressively short. Friendly staff and good food - thanks!

I use to eat here when it was Don Pepe and it was always wonderful today we ate here for the first time under Mr.Pepe and the food was gross that we wasted 30.00 of our food to the trash can. I will continue my business on Midlothian.

Great food, great lunch specials and the Mexican food is pretty delicious. Nice cozy place if you wanna get some good price Mexican food and you're looking for a casual place. Make sure you tell them that you were recommended and they will take care of ya. Just recommended by someone and that's it. You will enjoy this restaurant if you are in the area. 👍

Great Food and Service

A little inconsistent.but good nevertheless.

My wife and I love coming here because we can load up on chips and salsa or white sauce, each get a quesadilla combo which is filling and we can hand them a $20 including tip then walk out the door. So it’s affordable and it’s quality. Environment is pretty standard, typical Mexican restaurant. But what ever happened to Don Pepe!?!?

A friend invited us to try this restaurant instead of or usual Mexican restaurant. I was surprised to see a wait at the door in this mostly empty strip mall! It was worth the wait. The first indicator of a good Mexican restaurant is the salsa--Mr. Pepe's is excellent! Next, of course, the margarita.... Five stars! And of course dinner counts, too, and our party of seven enjoyed it all! My only critique is the food is generally more mildly seasoned than other Mexican I've had, but I'm certain that appeals to a wider audience. We'll be back for sure!

One of my favorite local mexican restaurants. My family and I often go here to enjoy the many delights such as the amazing food, great drinks and good service.The ownership has changed recently and no longer part of the two other Don Pepe's. This had no impact on the great qualities previously mentioned. I still highly recommend this place!

He's not doing well. He's going to have to go through more treatments, but unfortunately, they aren't sure if they'll be able to get all of the tumor removed. Will keep you updated.

The service and food was fantastic. Salsa was very tasty, with a good amount of cilantro and spice. Ordered steak tacos and fish tacos. Both came with rice and beans. All of the food was delicious. Seating was immediate on a Saturday evening, and staff was very attentive.

We usually go the the other Don Pepe in Chester VA and stoped at this one while getting a part at a nearby auto store. Totally on par with the other location. Food is amazing, fast and delicious. Servers are friendly fun. Absolutely the best Mexican food chain in the area. Will be coming back.

Mr.Pepe is not one of the best in Richmond, they ARE the best in Richmond. All the severs and managers make you feel like you are part of the family. Food is fast but good. This is one of our weekly places for my fiancé and I!

Pepes is always the most friendly place to go and enjoy Mexican food. Whenever I want something quick, I stop in for an order of 3 beef tacos. The hard shells are crammed full of meat, lettuce & white cheese. Their white cream sausa & red sausa has the perfect blend of spices and heat.

recently known as don pepe, this family friendly restaurant has always provided great service and the food is amazing for their prices. the alcoholic drinks are good too, sometimes they have happy hour for some of their drinks.

This USED to be good when it was Don Pepe. The quality of food has gone down hill since the name change to Mr. Pepe. Don't waste your time or money eating here.

I cannot say enough about Pepe's. Friendly staff, timely food, and have never had ordered something that was not phenomenal. Oh, and their margaritas are HUGE

Introduced to them by close friends, I always get the chorizo and egg with beans. Their margarita deals are great and they are generous on the tequila. Everyone is really helpful, their booths are clean, and the bathroom is nice. They also have really cool shirts...

Mr Pepe was solid! The food place was packed for dollar taco night but we got a seat in reasonable time and enjoyed the tacos. The the chips and salsa were fantastic. Would recommend if you need a reasonably priced Mexican fix.

Everything was delicious! We ordered curbside pick up and it was so easy. The specials are our favorite.

This is a long time favorite place for us to indulge in Mexican cuisine. Within the past several months there have been owner or manager changes. The food is still usually pretty good but we miss seeing many of the former staff.

This place was amazing and the service was very good too. I ordered the Farm burrito, my husband ordered the pollo con chorizo. It was delicious. We dinifinetly will be coming back.

Even in the midst of a remodel this place rocked! The service was excellent, and the food...! Having spent 13 years in the southwest and being from Texas I know good Mexican food. This place is as real as it gets. Chorizo to die for, chili relleno that if I didn't get such a large portion I'd have had 2(or more lol) delish, fresh pico and salsa.. if you're in the Richmond area come and check this place out! Very good food at a reasonable price. Stay is friendly and they welcome you coming through the door. My take out order didn't take long and the food was fresh. Very good drink specials too bad I was on lunch 😂. Awesome place for authentic food 🤟👍

Let’s be honest- this is the BEST Mexican food south of the James River. Try the Enchiladas Rancheras and fall in love with the Carnitas... no wonder this place is always slammed busy! Great service and a family favorite.

It's even good during quarantine!!! They are the first restaurant out of 3 during these times where I have gotten the food on time, it was all correct, and it's exactly what I expected if I was dining inside. Love you guys!

My family loves Don Pepe!! The people who work there are top notch and so friendly. The food is delicious and comforting. The atmosphere and music is enjoyable. We have a great time every time we go.
